Indonesia’s carbon trading mechanism has seen improved regulation with the establishment of IDX Carbon. However, several challenges have persisted since its 2023 implementation. We have integrated the latest updates on Indonesia’s evolving carbon landscape into Mandala’s updated carbon study.
In addition to the comprehensive carbon trading analysis we previously published, this study assesses the impact of IDX Carbon by examining transactions from day one to the present and evaluating their effects on the market. We’ve also benchmarked how various countries manage their carbon exchanges. Furthermore, we analyze Indonesia’s Renewable Energy Certificates (REC) and compare them to other carbon trading mechanisms.
