The vibrant collaboration between Indonesia and Africa continues to flourish with the successful Zanzibar-Indonesia Investment Forum, held on September 1 under the theme "Navigating New Horizons in Blue Economy Cooperation." This strategic platform facilitated collaboration across vital Blue Economy sectors —including oil and gas, maritime, fisheries, seaweed, and tourism— paving the way for exciting new partnerships between Indonesia and Zanzibar. Mandala proudly played a key role as the knowledge partner.
We were honored by the presence of the President of Zanzibar, H.E. Dr. Hussein Mwinyi, who delivered special opening remarks, alongside the Minister of State in the President's Office for Labor, Economy, and Investment, Mr. Shariff Ali Shariff. The forum was also attended by ministers and representatives from the Zanzibar government and high-level representatives from the business sector. A special thanks to the Executive Director of the Zanzibar Investment Promotion Authority, Mr. Saleh Saad Mohammed, and the Director of Facilitation of Tanzania Investment Centre Mr. Revocatus A. Rasheli, for sharing insights into investment opportunities and policies in Zanzibar.
From Indonesia, we were privileged to have the forum opened by Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, Pahala Mansury, with representatives from the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs Republic of Indonesia, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. CEOs, presidents, and senior-level managers from leading Indonesian Blue Economy businesses were also in attendance, making the forum an unparalleled opportunity for both business leaders and government officials from Indonesia to connect and explore Zanzibar's potential.
