White Paper Launch: “Driving Credit Expansion Through Responsible Collaborations Between Banks and P2P Lending Platforms”

Mandala Consulting, in collaboration with Asosiasi FinTech Indonesia (AFTECH), proudly launched a White Paper exploring strategies to expand credit access through responsible and sustainable collaboration between banks and P2P lending platforms. This study was initiated by AFTECH and jointly developed with Mandala Consulting, reflecting our shared commitment to strengthening a more inclusive, prudent, and impactful financing ecosystem.



The event convened 100+ participants from 37 institutions, representing government, banks, banking associations, and the broader fintech ecosystem.

The White Paper was presented by Hasyim Ali Shahab, our Lead Researcher at Mandala Consulting, outlining key data points, partnership models, and recommendations to strengthen bank–P2P collaboration frameworks.



We were honored to receive keynote remarks from:
1. Bapak Jasmi – Deputy Commissioner for PVML, OJK
2. Bapak Muhamad Chatib Basri – Senior Advisor, Mandala Consulting
3. Ibu Rosy Wediawaty – Directorate of Sharia Economics and State-Owned Enterprises, BAPPENAS
4. Bapak Erdiriyo – Assistant Deputy for Financial Inclusion Enhancement, Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs (DNKI Secretariat)

The discussion was further enriched by a high-level panel featuring:
1. Bapak Adief Razali (Head of the Department of Supervision for Microfinance Institutions and Other Financial Institutions of OJK) - Highlighting the importance OJK’s efforts to strengthen regulation and supervision to ensure the industry grows under strong governance,
2. Bapak Nucky P. Djatmiko (Head of P2P Lending Department of AFTECH) - The role of P2P platforms as credit incubators for underbanked and unbanked segments, leveraging AI technology in their application and underwriting processes,
3. Bapak Yoza Yanuar Pribadi (Head of Directorate for Private Bank Supervision 5 of OJK) - The need for standardized assessment frameworks and strengthened risk management within banks to evaluate the health and credibility of P2P platforms properly,
4. Ibu Anika Faisal (Secretary General of PERBANAS) - The complementary relationship between banks and P2P platforms as an innovative response to longstanding challenges in credit access,
5. Bapak Junedy Liu (Vice President of Seabank) - The challenges banks frequently face in terms of service reach and data availability to accurately assess borrowers’ capacity and willingness to repay,
and moderated by our Senior Advisor, Bapak Rainier Haryanto.

We hope this White Paper will serve as a practical reference for policymakers and industry players in driving broader, more responsible, and sustainable credit access, and contributing meaningfully to Indonesia’s financial inclusion agenda.
