On July 15th, Mandala, in collaboration with BritCham Indonesia, hosted Mandala Talks, attended by 56 participants from the government and business sectors. The event, titled "Taking Downstreaming to the Next Level: A Diagnostic Analysis for Indonesia’s Higher Complexity and Beyond," aimed to present our study on the impact of downstreaming on the economy and discuss steps to support its success, presented by our senior researcher, Tiara Amalia Puteri.
We are grateful for the insightful opening remarks from Prof. Chatib Basri, which highlighted the importance of GDP growth to escape the middle-income trap and the need to strengthen the manufacturing sector and global supply chain participation.
